Medieval Tavern Scene Building in Unreal Engine 4

This environmental scene building project was my final project I created in my hard surface modeling class I took in Fall 2022. For this project, we were tasked with modeling pieces for a grid so that we could import them into Unreal Engine and use them to build a scene based on the “medieval tavern” theme.
Base medieval tavern model kit I created.
Basic scene layout I created in Maya using the tavern model kit.
I went with a basic wooden structure for the classic tavern feel, as well as it would be easily repeatable and easy to build off of when putting the scene together in Unreal Engine. I also made sure to include wooden beams for the ceilings, and a variety of other pieces in the kit to fill the scene, such as the trap door, small stairs, and wooden fencing.
From there, all pieces were imported into Unreal Engine 4 and I began building my scene using the 3nd person perspective game template in order to properly scale all my pieces to a player model. Once the base of the tavern was completed, I went back into Maya to model some prop pieces, as well as imported a couple of prop sets from the Epic store to fill the scene.
Besides the model kit I created, I also modeled the tables, benches, barrels, crates, and mugs/tankards (not pictured individually). I then used the Medieval Tavern kit by Mehmet Kaptan, and the Fantastic Village Pack by Tidal Flask Studios from the Epic store to give more life to the space with food, plants, ladders, bookcases, chandeliers, and stools.
Finally, I went through to add some dim lighting throughout the scene, making sure all of the lighting came from my pre-placed light sources and giving the scene the darker tavern-like feel.
